Love, Your Low Rider

A fine-art photography book.

Forty-four long-and-low dogs.

And the love notes they've been waiting to write.

The Concept

Most love stories are told by the humans.

Most love stories about dogs are told by the humans who lived them. This one lets the dogs have the floor.

Love, Your Low Rider is a limited-edition fine art coffee table book celebrating some of Southern California's most distinguished long-and-low dogs. Each featured dog is photographed on location by fine art photographer Kelly McNamara, and each dog delivers a love note to the human who changed their life. Written from the dog's perspective. Signed with an inked pawprint.

The result is something that sounds like it should be silly, and somehow isn't. It's a portrait of devotion that turns the usual dynamic on its head. The dog, for once, is doing the talking.

Forty-four dogs. Ten recognized breeds, plus a small number of spots for honorary Low Riders — the mixed-breed dogs with the proportions to earn their place.

The Process

Here's How it Works

01

02

Get selected

Accepted applicants receive an invitation to book their session.

03

Your session

On location in Southern California, in good golden-hour light. Kelly comes to you — or to a location that suits your dog. Sessions are calm, guided, and unhurried.

04

Your design appointment

About two weeks after your session, you'll see your images for the first time. You'll choose your favorites and work with Kelly to select heARTwork that fits your home and your life. Your session includes a heARTwork credit toward whatever speaks to you.
