June is Foster a Pet Month, and if you’ve ever wondered whether fostering really makes a difference… allow me to introduce you to Bruce. A big-hearted husky with soulful brown eyes, an impressively floofy tail, and a past that was a bit murky—until someone gave him a chance to shine.

Bruce came into the care of a local shelter with not much more than his name and a whole lot of potential. Enter his incredible foster mom and dad, who opened their home (and hearts) to him while he waited for his forever people. They brought him to a photoshoot for two of their family dogs, and I offered to help show the world what they already knew: that this dog wasn’t just adoptable—he was downright irresistible.

So, we had a quick "glow-up" session in between shots of their pooches. No, not the kind with contouring and mascara. Just Bruce being Bruce: tongue out in hopes of a treat, ears perked, and experiencing the morning with the kind of joy that makes your heart do backflips. I captured his seldom-shown serious side, his soulful gaze, and a few of the little things that make a dog unforgettable (like how he was happy to dress up in his best tuxedo collar and bow tie).

His foster mom shared the photos on the shelter's social media page... and guess what? Bruce got adopted! (Insert celebratory tail wags, happy tears, and maybe a doggy ice cream cone.)

Fostering made that possible.

📸 Why I love photographing foster pets:

Because a good photo can be the bridge between "homeless" and "home." Between overlooked and oh my gosh, that’s my dog!

✨ If you're thinking about fostering, consider this your sign. You don’t have to commit forever to change a life forever. And if you’re already fostering—thank you. Seriously.

💙 To every foster parent out there: You’re the quiet heroes of the rescue world, and I see you. If I could, I’d give you all a medal. Or at least a cookie. Or maybe a photo session.

Want to help more dogs like Bruce?

Follow your local shelters on social media, share the pups looking for homes, or (if your couch has a little extra room) consider fostering. I promise it’ll change your life—and theirs.
